Writing to me is an important skill to have for everyday tasks whether it is documentation at work or explaining to your doctor on paper to them the pain you are going through. I started to learn about writing skills when I was in 5th or 6th grade and what they taught us the importance of writing. Some of the things that teachers would teach us was to be creative, to meet their expectations of an essay and to be able to Jot down our ideas onto a graph that would help us to get all of our ideas down on paper in an organized manner. Most teachers use life situations to help students understand why it is important to have writing skills.
For example, say you’re at work and your coworker and you are sitting down to eat your lunch and suddenly, a loud bang goes off and the whole building starts to shake. Now you must go fill out a whole report or tell your boss about what happen. So, when either telling or writing to him/her you must have a clear mind so then you are able to explain what happened so then your boss or whoever you are telling can understand the situation. Teachers would use this kind of situation to help us understand and build a better understanding of our writing skills. In this course it is also teaching us how to be better writers while in doing so teaching us new skills that will help us in any profession or skills needed for the real world.
