“Change does not roll in on the wheels of inevitability, but comes through continuous struggle.”(Martin Luther King Jr.) Let’s start with the writing process, something I didn’t even realize we had to use in the first place. Maybe not that we had used it but the fact of how useful it is when writing something as simple as a text message. Now rhetorical knowledge I had never even heard of in the first place so when it was brought up in the course I had no idea what it was in the first place. Now that I have the knowledge of what rhetorical knowledge is I am able to adapt to different contexts, audiences, and purposes.
After taking this course my writing approach has become richer due to all the new things I have learned throughout the course. Would I say that my writing approach has become more complex maybe yes because now it takes me longer to write things? I think that’s a good thing because when I write I have the ability to make sense now and be able to understand my audience more. So my mind runs about a hundred miles per hour so it’s very hard for me to make sense anytime I talk. Taking this course has really helped me be able to sort through all the things that go through my mind.
I am definitely going to use rhetorical knowledge after this course because that really did help me when it came to writing some of the assignments. The reason I would use rhetorical knowledge is that it really helps me approach the assignments when it comes to me doing different audiences, contexts, and purposes. I will definitely approach my future writing tasks in with a new perspective. In this course, I gained so much new knowledge of writing skills that the way I look at doing my writing tasks will never be the same.
